MegaUprising was created to coordinate a more aggressive response to SOPA/PIPA after the mass blackout protest on 01-18-2012 and the DOJ shutdown of MegaUpload on the following day, 01-19-2012. Rather than simply reacting to prevent the passage of legislation, MegaUprising seeks to go on the offensive and remove big media from power.
All donations made directly to MegaUprising are used for strategic actions as outlined in the manifesto. We will advance political actions, lobby, start and encourage boycotts and promote competition through independent media.
